Collages use pixel dimensions and are suited to websites or social sharing.

Use Fill to cover every cell; use Show complete image when preserving all edges matters.

Build a contact sheet for photo proofing

A contact sheet places multiple thumbnails and filenames on one paper page.

Rename files clearly before uploading if a client must select by filename.
Choose A4 or Letter, orientation, and a suitable column count.
Enable captions and add a project header or footer if needed.
Export PDF and review it at 100% zoom before sending or printing.

Fewer columns produce larger thumbnails; more columns fit more images.
Long filenames are shortened inside their cells instead of overflowing the page.

Prepare 35×45 mm or 2×2 inch ID photos

The tool repeats the first image at a physical size and can add cut guides.

Prepare a sharp, front-facing photo with even lighting and the required background.
Choose the size preset, 4×6/A4/Letter paper, and number of copies.
Generate a preview and inspect the head, shoulders, and crop.
Export PDF and print at Actual size or 100%, never Fit to page.

35×45 mm and 2×2 inches are different dimensions.
Correct dimensions alone do not guarantee biometric or jurisdictional acceptance.

Make a quick product catalog

Catalog mode creates an image grid with a product name and price or secondary detail.

Add products and order them by group or priority.
Enter a name and price for every image in the queue.
Choose columns, accent color, header, and footer.
Check that labels remain readable, then export PNG for sharing or PDF for printing.

Keep price formatting consistent across products.
A light background and sufficiently contrasting accent improve readability.

Pre-print checklist

PDF preserves page dimensions, but the print dialog and printer still affect the result.

Confirm A4, Letter, or 4×6 is selected in both the tool and printer.
Open the PDF and inspect orientation and content at 100%.
Disable automatic scaling when an exact ID photo size is required.
Print one test page, measure it with a ruler, and only then print the full quantity.

Printers without borderless support may require a larger margin.
Screen and print colors can differ without color management or printer calibration.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are read, arranged, and exported inside your browser. Tool Office does not receive your file contents.

What is the difference between Fill and Show complete image?

Fill crops excess edges to cover the whole cell. Show complete image keeps every edge but may leave empty space inside the cell.

Will the PDF print ID photos at the correct size?

The PDF uses the selected paper and mm/inch preset. In the print dialog, select 100% or Actual size, choose the matching paper, disable Fit to page, and measure a test print.

Does a 35×45 mm or 2×2 inch preset guarantee passport acceptance?

No. The tool only helps with size and placement. Authorities also assess background, lighting, expression, head position, print quality, and current jurisdiction-specific rules.

Should I export PNG or PDF?

Use PNG for digital sharing or further design work. Use PDF when preserving an A4, Letter, or 4×6 page size for printing matters.

Can a contact sheet show image filenames?

Yes. Select Contact sheet and enable captions; filenames appear below thumbnails in queue order.
